Epilogue

John opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was Sherlock’s face looking at him thoughtfully, eyes shining with love, full of recognition and memories. There were stars shining bright above his head.

“There you are," John said softly and smiled. “I missed you.”

Sherlock’s face was solemn, but John could see his eyes softening. “John. Thank you for finding me.”

Then he closed the distance between them and pulled John into his arms. John pressed his face against Sherlock’s chest, breathing in the familiar scent, and felt ridiculously happy. Laughter was bubbling up inside of him, spilling from his lips and he felt Sherlock’s chest rumble before the sound of his deep laughter mixed with John’s.

And only the stars bore witness as the circle closed.

AN: I will be forever grateful to Verity, who not only helped me improve my writing, but was a constant source of encouragement, incentive, laughter and of course innuendo. I love you! This would not have been possible without you.

Thanks a million to all my readers and especially to those who took the time to leave a comment! I cherished every one of them. :)

MMMMNNNNGH!

No, not coherent enough, let me try again.

AAAAWWWWW!!!!!!

Better, but still not I have in mind. Wow, being coherent is hard. I'm sad that this story is finished, but what a lovely way to end it. I adore every single word, they're all beautiful. The two lines of dialogue are perfect, nothing more needed to be said because you said everything with those words.

Great story, I applaud you and if you ever build a castle in which all your fans will live to serve you and feed you raspberries, I want to be in it.

Hehe, I made you incoherent. YES! :D

Thanks a lot for the comment, especially the part about the dialogue! I came up with the epilogue while I was swimming and I nearly drowned out of joy. ;)

Ooh, I like the castle idea! Maybe we can install a huge freezer for you and atlin with ice cream and caramel sauce in it, just in case. *lol*

Writing fics = drowning hazard? That's a surprise (and a scary one). Glad you didn't drown, mostly because it would have been awful, but also because you wouldn't have finished this.

I approve of the huge freezer. I don't know if it's the weather of if the fics are particularly hot recently, but I would spend a lot of time in that freezer (just came back from the grocery store where I had a giggle fit in the ice cream/chocolate/caramel sauce aisle...damn fandom).

Aww... beautiful, just lovely!

I'm afraid I cannot claim to be the 'best beta in the world' however - and I should know, because I snaffled her first :P

Wow, your lovely comments are piling up in my inbox! Couldn't answer because first LJ was uncooperative and then I was on a conference in England.

Thank you for your constant encouragement and all the brilliant comments you left. They really helped and made me happy! <3

Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to get around to reading this; it's been a really busy week or so.

I really enjoyed it, and loved the reincarnation stuff.

I have just finished reading all the chapter. It was a fantastic fic. Really. I just love it development: The scenes shown from John's point of view; the relaxed but meaningful descriptions and words; the way and speed the story unravelled. It was beautiful.
I think that also it was a great plot. Reencarnation fics are always fascinating. I always find them gripping because I tend to imagine that Granada!Holmes, Russian!Holmes, Cannon!Holmes and 2009MovieVerse!Holmes can be seen just conected, following the same string, sharing the same chemistry.
I want to thank you deeply for writing this great fic and publishing it! It was really enjoyable.

Read all of it in one sitting. Magnificent work. I love the idea that John 'awakes' after being shot and starts to look for the soul that is the match to his own. Being someone that truly believes in reincarnation, I liked very much the way you implied the various lives/genders/kinds of relationship they already had. Really magnificent. The ending made me feel all teary and fuzzy.
