“It’s a treasure hunt.”

“A treasure hunt?”

“Yes. He's leaving us clues and hints so that we can follow his trail.”

“And what is the treasure? A dead body?”

“Maybe a live one if we move fast enough?”

Sherlock, John and Lestrade stood in the office that had been cleared for this case and looked at the wall opposite the door. It was completely covered with a map of London and on top of it were the various hints and clues they had found so far.

“But we still don’t know where to start.”

“Yes. We are missing a clue. It’s either here or here.” Sherlock pointed to two points on opposite sides of London.

“We need to check out both places. Sherlock, I need you here. I will go with one team, John with Sergeant Tam and the other team. Keep radio contact.”

Sherlock followed John into the adjoining room where Lestrade talked both teams through the operation. John smiled at Ronda Tam and she smiled back at him.

Before she could turn away, Sherlock leaned down and pressed a kiss on John’s lips.

John grinned despite the seriousness of the situation. “Did you just mark your territory?”

“I have no idea what you're talking about. That was for luck. Be safe.”

“I will. Go back inside and be brilliant.”

Yeah, right. Yay for jealous!Sherlock! I wonder how he (and John) would react if they knew that Ronda wolf-whistled Sherlock!

The title makes me think of a pirate film. Sherlock has a scarf. Martin Freeman plays the Pirate with a Scarf in The Pirates! It makes perfect sense! :D

Didn't you miss some words in "It was completely covered with a map of London and on top of it where the various hints and clues they had found so far."? Or maybe it's just me and my numb brain, sorry! :-)

I really like this! I know you always say that you don't feel plot is your greatest strength, but I find the 'treasure hunt' killer quite intriguing.

Jealous Sherlock is always a joy - I loved the marking of territory! And thank you very much for linking to Ronda's previous mention, that was very helpful, and lovely to read again :D

Haha, that's the problem. I come up with great ideas (a treasure hunt killer!) but I could never write the actual case fic. You know with a beginning, a middle and a solution in the end...
I could write the various sex scenes they have though: before the case starts, as stress relief in the middle and to celebrate the end of the case. ;)

I should write more about Ronda. I like her. :D

I just ASFGHVFKHJFLHD loved John here. And Sherlock. And John. And Sherlock.
I can picture the kiss so increadibly clearly, it's like he sees the situation and the smile John and Ronda exchange and then he gets that look on his face which we've seen in the series so very often and the leaning down and kissing is simply an extension of that look, or the logical and inevitable next step. AWESOMELY DONE!
And I adored the "Be safe" and Be brilliant" exchange. Adooooooored it.
So much a fave. SO MUCH.
Sorry for all the rambling but it's you who's giving me ALL THE FEELS.

I feel like I want to leave a thousand exclamation marks more but that'd be silly, wouldn't it? Damned.
