Previous 221b: Alive and kicking

Today's prompt: looking

________________________________________________

What we see

He looked at the other man’s hands. Strong hands. Capable hands. Capable of inflicting pain - and pleasure. His eyes followed that thought and wandered down to the man’s arse. He wondered...

Suddenly Lestrade stepped on his left foot and hissed, “For God’s sake, stop staring at that bloke’s arse. John is right over there.”

Sherlock raised his gaze from the apparently affronting-to-look-at part of anatomy to look at John.

John was watching him with a small pained expression on his face but smoothed it over to an equally small smile.

“I know that I said you can look. I just didn’t realise that with you it wouldn’t be just looking. Of course it wouldn’t.” He sighed.

That little sigh hurt Sherlock more than any accusation John could have hurled at him.

“I wasn’t looking at him. I was looking at you. Through him.”

“I’m not sure that makes sense.”

“Obviously aspects of him appeal to my sense of beauty. But it didn’t make me think about him, all it did was remind me of you. His hands made me think about your hands”, he shivered, “and what they can do to me. And it made me want to look at you.”

John suddenly reached for him as if the physical distance between them was more than he could bear.

Next 221b: Nobody is perfect

AN:
Today's prompt was 'looking', as in 'Sherlock is looking at someone other than John'. This is a sequel to Nature of the Beast, where Sherlock was jealous because he caught John looking at other people.

Nice recovery, Sherlock! *makes mental note*

Although, I'm sure in his case it was perfectly genuine, bless him.

And I'm not sure my hubby would go for it when he catches me drooling over those pictures of Camille Lacourt that Atlin keeps blogging. Worth a try, though!

*wants to hug John*

And it made me want to look at you.
Yeah, so why did you look at this bloke's arse instead?
*is a little bit vindictive*
*wants to hug Sherlock too all the same*
*hugs Greg too while she's at it*
*is in heaven* :D

Shove over, Choco - I'm definitely needing to hug all three of them here, cos they're all being adorable in their own way.

And only Sherlock could say something that about ogling another man and absolutely mean it, bless him.

And suddenly an orgy is happening in my journal. I approve.

Lady, where are your hands? I want to see your hands. This is a family friendly journal after all. Um, wait. No.

If it wasn't Sherlock talking, I wouldn't believe a word. But it is him and this makes his declaration simply adorable.

Yeah, no other could get away with this.

This is lovely. You've given it a spin I didn't see coming—that John said he could look, but that he's hurt anyway. How very human!

I also think this is exactly how Sherlock would look at another man—through a sort of John filter. Lovely!

Aww. And I'm glad Greg's got John's back, as it were.
