Washed ashore


What do Sherlock and John do for fun? Oh, their work is (mostly) fun to them, but that’s not what I mean.

Sherlock loves his experiments, research on all kinds of stuff, the more disgusting the better. He reads the newspaper because he is looking for crime. John reads the newspaper because he wants to know what happens in the world.

John likes books. Fiction, which Sherlock thinks is a waste of time. He likes to meet Greg for a pint or Stamford for a coffee.

One thing they have in common? Sex. Oh yes. They do this for fun.

But apart from that? Not so much. Usually they’re both fine with it, sitting on the sofa each wrapped up in something to read and in each other.

One morning John decided that he wanted them to have a ‘joint activity’. He made Sherlock go for a walk with him.

They walked down to South Bank and watched the sand artists for a while. Before Sherlock could get mean, John walked down the stairs to see if something interesting had washed up on the shore.

Sherlock shuffled behind him, seemingly uninterested, until he suddenly exclaimed something and started picking up things.

John walked closer to take a look and laughed out loud. Trust Sherlock to find the bones on the beach.

LJ was wonky yesterday, hope it's better today. In case you missed my post, there was car!sex. :D

The bone beach actually exists. Atlin and I amused a bunch of passers-by because we collected all the bones we found and tried to build a skeleton.

I love this I love this I love this. Because you and me and the shades of John and Sherlock are all on that beach together.

It's an amazing wee little strip of beach, folks, the bones can only be found in an area about 100 metres wide. It's amazing and creepy and Anarion and I were on that beach for hours and the only reason we stopped is we couldn't carry any more bones.

Anarion worried about returning to Germany with all these dead body parts in her luggage but no one seemed to care. Sherlock would approve.

Anyway, I love this my precious and can't wait to go back to that beach with you!

I read the title and I thought, "It must be a metaphor, it's going to be a sad one about Sherlock who feels abandoned or...", then I read the prompt and felt better. :D

Awww, it's an adorable image.

I can picture them so well on the beach. What Sherlock does, it's so him! And I suppose that he's going to deduce who these people were and how they died. (And he will be right, of course.)

So, this is what you do for fun? I probably should find it creepy but I think it's rather funny. Should I be scared? Also, who was Sherlock and who was John? I guess the tall one with curly hair was Sherlock. :D

She also has the coat of awesome. Wait, how do you know that I'm short and she is tall? o.O

Ha! I've never said you're small, but NOW I know you are! :D Well, I'm very tempted to answer, with a mysterious look, "I've deduced it." But no. It's just that Atlin looks rather tall in the photos of herself she posts on her Tumblr, for example the one with Mark Gatiss. As for you, I vaguely remember some comments in your journal, or some answers to your comments in other journals (Verity's, Ariane's or Atlin's, I guess) which implied that, er, saying you're tall would be a blatant exaggeration. :D Which is a thing I tend to remember because saying that I'm tall myself would be a pretty blabant exaggeration too.

which part of the beach is that? cause I found loads of bones on the North bank below the Millennium bridge; and lots of china shards,...so many I could have made a mosaik; but then I left them there :p
