I didn't manage to post chapter 3 of 'Another blink in time', because my life is crazy at the moment: was out of town last week, have a lot of work, a family wedding with relatives from 3 continents coming up and, oh wait, I had a social life once...

So this is a little apology for the delay. Chapter 3 will be up next week! I promise!

221B - An evening in

‘John, this is getting ridiculous! I know you’re not reading, because you have been staring at the same page for exactly 13 minutes. Can we please stop pretending we are not both thinking about the same thing?
I will be waiting for you in bed.’

At that point John nearly looks up, but he manages to stay perfectly immobile and doesn’t even flinch. He listens to Sherlock moving about the flat, going to the bathroom and then to his bedroom. Without closing the door.

John tries to focus on his book again, but it is useless. Instead his mind is filled with images of those slender fingers, pale on his own tanned skin, moving in slow circles. He swallows.

He knows it is no use to pretend that he does not want to touch Sherlock every second he is in sight (or out of sight). He wants to kiss him until they are both breathless and Sherlock’s body melts against his own. He wants to touch him, like no one else is allowed, wants to wipe away that mask of cold intellect and reveal the person behind. He wants to hear his own name moaned out loud. Or screamed.

He just never dared to think Sherlock would want the same.

Oh, to hell with this! John smiles and closes his book.

This made me smile so wide! I love 221Bs, especially ones like this: One topic, intense, and well done. You have them so in-character is such a few words, too!

More 221Bs please!

(Aren't they addictive?)

There is something about the words 'three continents' that makes me giggle. This fandom has ruined me.

Your 221b is lovely! I really enjoy the format and I love what you did with it. That's not a very hard choice you gave John there! I love how they were having a seemingly calm evening until Sherlock couldn't stand it (I'm a big fan of 'gasping for it Sherlock'. Also, very nice insight on what's going on in John's head.

No need to apologize; 'Another blink in time' is a story worth waiting for :-)

Aww... still love it :D

I wish I could do these, they're so clever. I think there's something wrong with my computer.

The like no one else is allowed still gets me. Great stuff.

Usually we see Sherlock as the one in control, with John like "Please take me NOW!" Like how this turned that around. Good work! :)

Haha, Sherlock would figure it all out. Best not to think about it too much, John.
