Title: Strip poker John Watson style
Words: 221
Rating: PG
Pairings : Sherlock/John (slash or friendship, depending on your goggles)
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: Not mine.

The door to Sherlock’s bedroom slams against the wall.

John stumbles over a pile of books on the floor, nearly falls onto the bed and groans.

“Sherlock, come on. Clothes!”

“Why don’t you make me?” Someone is bored. And a little rebellious.

“Really? You want to do this now?” Someone else is slightly exasperated.

“...”

“Ok. I play you for them.”

“What?” Intrigued now.

“Ever heard of strip poker?”

“Oh. Clever. What you get when you win is obvious. What happens when I win?”

“Logically I take one piece of clothing off.”

John is pretty good at poker. He wins the first game.

“Socks.”

“Boring.”

He wins the second game.

“Trousers.”

“You forgot...”

“No, I didn’t.”

Sherlock raises one eyebrow. John grins.

And then loses the third game. Sherlock beams.

“Shirt.”

John takes off his shirt.

Being topless doesn't sidetrack John at all when he has a goal. He wins the fourth game.

“Shirt.”

There are footsteps on the stairs and a voice from the kitchen. A second later Lestrade enters Sherlock's room.

“Are you read... What's going on here? John, where is your shirt?”

John grins, puts on his shirt and grabs their coats before he throws the blue scarf at Sherlock.

“Sherlock was refusing to get dressed. I played him for it. I lost once.”

“You guys are bizarre.”

AN: This one is for [livejournal.com profile] atlinmerrick, who asked for a 221B with the boys playing strip poker. And while this might amaze you, I thought going for the obvious (porny) solution was boring. Shoker!

I don't play poker, so I have no idea if John could be so much better than Sherlock.

Also, did you notice what piece of clothing John forgot decided to ignore?

Well, I have the best (and most clever) mentors, this has to result in something clever from me now and then. :)

this made me smile so much.

I like how SOMEONE was bored and SOMEONE was frustrated. Toddler!Sherlock just cracks me up.

And then there's an activity page for the wee ones. "What piece of clothing did John ignore?"

The 221B pares down the action/dialogue and that really works here. Lestrade arriving at the strange scene made me giggle again esp. since any time he showed up, something weird would be going on.

My flist is slow today. I needed this.

This. Exactly so.
I wonder what the other people in the cafeteria are thinking of this giant grinning smirk I'm sporting...

Hahaha, brilliant!

Ah, John is the cleverest man on Earth. They'll go to that crime scene with Lestrade and Sherlock will have to deal with the fact that John knows what piece of clothing he is missing...

There is a whole new story in that! ;)

Thank you for that brilliant comment! <3

Sherlock/John (slash or friendship, depending on your goggles)
Damn, I've just trodden on my friendship goggles quite deliberately. Oh well, it only remains for me to take my slash ones, then. I don't often use them, I'm not even sure they're still working. Damn.

John stumbles over a pile of books on the floor, nearly falls onto the bed and groans.
Sherlock, come on.”

I don't understand this "sorry no porn" tag. I think it's terribly hot.

A second later Lestrade enters Sherlock's room.
Lestrade is going to play too ? Whoah, it's getting hotter and hotter.

Also, did you notice what piece of clothing John forgot decided to ignore?
Yes. The garter. For socks.

Serious comment : I love it ! It's funny, smart and pretty sexy. I strongly encourage you to carry on your conversations with Atlin, whether about kitchen furniture or board games. There's only a flaw in this fic, but, sorry, it's a huge one : the beginning is quite unrealistic. I mean, just think : Sherlock is naked and John wants him to get dressed. Read this sentence again, slowly. Come on, woman. Are you on drugs or something ?

PS : I still don't know if my slash goggles are still working.

"the beginning is quite unrealistic. I mean, just think : Sherlock is naked and John wants him to get dressed. Read this sentence again, slowly. Come on, woman."

What chocolamousse said! That really was a very unrealistic plot point. It threw me out of the whole story. As a matter of fact I stormed off before I got to the bizarre end, um, before I...oh hell I read it all. Twice.

But still.

John likes his gifts wrapped! It's no fun when you can see it all at the start!

Don't apologise, I'm sure you'll redeem yourself in your next fics ! By the way, did you receive my answer to your PM ? I answered in the very evening but I had trouble with LJ notifications for a few days, and I wonder if you received anything.

John 'forgot' to tell Sherlock to put on his bloomers. His knickers. His panties. HIS PANTS!

Wheeeeeee!

I love John. And this 221B.

You are quite clever to have caught that! I am also glad that the very unrealistic plot point did not throw you off completely. :)

hahah, what is this fresh perfection keeping me from doing my work?

also, I am fairly sure that John purposefully did not let Sherlock wear ... his watch. ahem. yeah, that must be it.
damnit, now I want to write fic. argh.

Yes. His watch. His doesn't need it anyway, he has a phone. Yep.

*hugs*

It's canon that John Watson gambles, so he's probably very, very good. It's probably one game at which Sherlock might have to concentrate a little bit if he's playing John.

It's fanon that Sherlock rarely, if ever wears knickers, so that part of the story didn't surprise me. :)

Hee, thank you for backing me up on John being pretty good at poker with canon! :)

This is a fun and grin-inducing thing of awesome.
I think I would have made the same decision as John. If you HAVE to cover up those many, many, many centimeters of yumsome detective, at least allow yourself something to think about during the time it's covered up.
...
Oh, wait, sorry, I was thinking about those snug, tailored trousers with no pants underneath, forgot what I was doing.

Srsly, I enjoyed this and you rock, but neither of these is a surprise.
Communing with Atlin is always wise, she radiates Muse sparkles, I swear.
