Advent Calender: Day 19

This is day 19 of the Advent calendar filled with 221Bs, brought to you by days_of_storm and me. We will post in rotation, so you get a 221B by me one day and one from her the next day, right up until Christmas.
Apart from the overall Christmasy theme we decided to refer to the previous 221B so that there will be a story in the end. Let's see how that works out.

Day 19


Lestrade walked through the Yard, glad that this year December was a more or less quiet month. That meant – among other things – that he didn’t have to deal with Sherlock and Anderson quarrelling over an advent calender while examining a crime scene.

He turned around a corner and almost ran into Donovan, who was busy on her phone.

“No, I need to speak to Doctor Meyer right now. It’s important. He is a crucial witness in the...”

Her voice faded as she walked away.

He passed the break room and caught sight of Sergeant McGregor and a few other women. They were chatting, giggling and obviously speculating about the two men from Baker Street. Suddenly a curly blonde shouted "A doctor on the brain. Get it? The Doctor on the Brain?" She giggled again and nudged the woman on her left, who was busy scribbling something on a piece of paper.

The two women opposite her started shrieking with laughter, scaring everyone else in the room. He could only see their backs, but the one with the fuzzy hair was now gripping the other woman's arm and both were cackling until they ran out of breath.

He grinned, shook his head and walked on.

Then he stopped short. The last thing he needed was people starting to call Sherlock ‘The Brain’.

AN: Ok, back from the isle of porn. ;D

This (the 'doctor on the brain' thing) is part three of the homework that was still left over from October, when atlinmerrick, arianedevere, mirith and I met in London. I am done now. :)

Awesome! This brings back happy memories. I have to say, though, it was the curly brunette who is currently a flame-haired goddess who dashed off this particular bon mot. Credit where credit is due. However, there was definitely shrieking and fuzziness.

The other night, my husband and I were walking around Boston, and we saw these women clutching each other and laughing and shrieking.

"Drunks," said my husband.

"Fangirls," said I.
