Advent Calender: Day 3
Dec. 3rd, 2011 06:15 pmThis is day three of the Advent calendar filled with 221Bs, brought to you by
Apart from the overall Christmasy theme we decided to refer to the previous 221B so that there will be a story in the end. Let's see how that works out.
A happy pre-Christmas season to all of you! :)
Day 2 here
Day three
Sherlock lay on his back in the dark and tried to figure out what had woken him.
Oh, of course. John was still awake and radiating emotions into the air as loudly as if shouting.
When they had walked back home from the opera, John had suddenly stopped and stared into the falling snow. He had seemed upset about something and when Sherlock inquired, John’s answer had been very quiet.
“You know, sometimes I fear that this, us, your love for me, might melt like snow on my skin.”
“John. You are the only one who ever breached my defences. The only one who ever wanted to and the only one who ever tried. And – to be fair – the only one I ever wanted to. This will never change. I need you to believe that.”
John had said nothing. Not one word until Sherlock fell asleep.
And now?
“John?”
He turned to his lover, who at once slid closer and pressed his head against Sherlock’s chest.
Sherlock felt something wet and realised John was crying. His concern turned into alarm.
“John. What’s wrong? Tell me, please.”
“Nothing.”
Sherlock huffed.
“No, really. Nothing is wrong. In fact, everything is alright now. I’m sorry about earlier. I just get into these weird moods sometimes. But I do, you know that, right? I believe.”

AN: Sorry for the delay, folks. I got stuck at my friend's place and LJ refused to work over there. *grumble*

Date: 2011-12-05 04:09 am (UTC)I believe also. You could list 100 commonly held and cherished beliefs, and I would believe none of them except the one about the necessity of snow tires in New England, because the bar is pretty freaking high over here. But that these two characters are real and destined to be together forever? I believe that. Forever and ever, amen.
