Fic: 221B - Unexpected sight

atlinmerrick, arianedevere, mirith and I met in London. Hilarity ensued. Let me just say that we will probably never ever be allowed to sit in the NT bar ever again. For details check Ari's account of the afternoon. ;)In the end we came up with three things everybody had to put into fic somehow. This is the first sentence, the second one will follow in another 221B. The third one nobody remembers...
221B - Unexpected sight
It had been a close call. Really close.
Sherlock was very sure that he could not have held on to the unconscious John or the pier any longer. And the Thames was cold this time of year.
He had never before been so thankful to see Lestrade and Sally Donovan. Maybe even Anderson, though he was not sure about that. [Why was Anderson there anyway? Why was Anderson anywhere anyway would be the better question!]
So when John finally opened his eyes again and looked at him, he threw caution to the wind and kissed him openly.
Sally and Lestrade stared at first, I will give you that. Then Lestrade smiled happily and Sally looked mildly uncomfortable at the sight of Sherlock stripped of his cold mask, clearly shaken and distressed at first and then utterly relieved. So very human.
Then a perplexed voice came from behind.
“Why are they kissing?”
“We did just save them from imminent death.”
“Yes... but WHY are they kissing?”
“Well, Anderson, when an army doctor and a consulting detective love each other very much...”
Anderson looked like he might be sick. “Please, just stop right there.”
After a while the ambulance with Sherlock and John drove off and Sally and Lestrade left too. The only one still standing on the pier was Anderson, looking bewildered.

Now I really, really have to do my homework, don't I? Okay. Will start it on the plane during my 90 minute flight from San Francisco.
Also, you do, you really really truly do give the best hugs and I just regret I only got two or three (or was it four?). Anyway, next time you might as well pretend we're dating because I am going to request hugs for no reason so I can stock up on those wonderful delights.
