Fic: 221B - Wounds

Pairings : Sherlock/John
Disclaimer: Sadly the characters are not mine and no money is made (that would be sooo cool!).
Summary: Sometimes Sherlock comes home wounded.
‘Bloody hell, what happened to you?’
John drops his book onto the armchair he just left and walks over to Sherlock who looks as if he recently had an encounter with a steamroller.
‘Chased a suspect. Got into a fight, fell down a ladder into the sewer. Caught the suspect.’
‘I can see the first and smell the second. Congratulations on the third one.’ They exchange a tender smile. ‘Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.’
Sherlock quietly follows John to the bathroom and lets himself get undressed by John’s careful hands. He steps into the shower, sits down on the ground and waits for John to gently wash away the dirt.
John takes a clean and patched up Sherlock to his bed and marvels at the quietness that surrounds them. These are rare occasions, when Sherlock is exhausted from working but happy because he solved a case. The adrenaline already worn off and not yet bored.
Sherlock wraps himself around John and presses a kiss over John’s heart, before resting his head there. He is completely relaxed and John knows that his brain is mercifully silent right now.
‘I missed you.’ Sherlock intertwines their fingers. John smiles.
‘I love you. All the time. But I think I love you especially when you come home to me beaten up and bruised.’

Date: 2011-08-10 01:56 pm (UTC)This is sweet and I love when the boys take care of each other. They seem so affectionate and fond of each other, it made me want to bury myself under a blanket and read fluff all day. You wrote the quiet atmosphere really well :-)
Two sentences are battling to be my favourite and I've decided they both can be. The first one is Sherlock's I missed you because I believe that, in canon, soon he'll enjoy going on cases with John so much that the cases without him won't seem as exciting.
The other phrase I loved (and I loved it because it made me laugh so much) is this one: I can see the first and smell the second. Congratulations on the third one. That was pure brilliance!

And if you are going to stay under that blanket for a while, I am writing a fluffy one-shot at the moment. It is not very compliant, but I am confident that I will wrestle my muse to the ground sooner or later. ;)

I hope your Sherlock will be more cooperative than mine and won't insist on taking off John's clothes (unless you want him to do that). No, the problem is that the fic was supposed to be fluff. Really, tooth-achingly sweet fluff. And at the moment I don't feel fluffy.
So there came a case. And insecure!Sherlock. And a fight.
Jeez...

All I know is that in the end John is so mad that he almost hits Sherlock and then walks out, leaving Sherlock in a panic that John does not really love him.
So maybe Sherlock does something and John gets really angry? Or maybe it starts off not so bad but then Sherlock just says something really hurtful during the fight?
