I see you


John sat down at the table in the kitchen, rested both his elbows on the tabletop and carefully blew on the steaming hot liquid in the mug he was holding in his hands.

While he waited for his tea to cool down a little bit, he watched Sherlock over the rim of his mug. His friend, no, lover, John corrected himself with a smug little grin that was hidden by the mug, was reading the paper with his usual concentration. Or wasn’t he? He definitely had been staring at that exact same spot for quite a while now.

“John,” Sherlock said without looking up, “you’re looking at me again.”

“Yes.”

“Stop.”

“Why? I like looking at you.”

“It’s distracting.”

“It’s never distracted you before.”

“That was different.”

“Different? How?”

“I used to know why you looked at me. But now… I wonder what you are looking at, what you are seeing and what you are thinking about, looking at me. I try to figure out if maybe looking makes you want to do things and then I start to want things and I get distracted.”

“You lost me at the part where I want to do things to you, because, God yes, I do.”

They looked at each other, newspaper and tea forgotten, and then John licked his lips and Sherlock blushed.

Anarion, Atlin is going to kill you! She gives you a sexy prompt she holds especially dear and as a result she has a mug! The beginning was so promising though, with blew and steaming hot in the same sentence. :D

Ah, insecure!Sherlock. I love him. Also, I think you need to specify what these things are because it's not very clear, you see? *coughs* (Please notice I am not demanding a sequel. I'm so much subtler than that. What?)

Oh, that's just gorgeous! I love your Sherlock in this, he is sheer perfection.

It's hilarious, though, because I just read this and Atlin is sitting right here, so when I went 'Aww', she glanced up hopefully and I said, "Oh, you're going to have mixed feelings about this one!" and THEN I read Chocola's opening line and burst out laughing :D

I'm sure she'll love it, though. How could anyone not? It's adorable!

I really like Sherlock staring at the same point on the paper for awhile. It's very *him* to try and cover what's going on in his head. That he blushes? Even better.

On another note, I can not imagine why Chocola and Verity presumed I'd have death on my mind. After nearly 300 days of prompting you I, of all people, know that very few 'obvious' prompts will be treated in an obvious manner. Plus I am not even a violent person. Not even a little bit. What is this behind my back? It is nothing. Nothing at all. Now, look at that pretty pony Anarion, frisking in the meadow, look!
