Previous 221b: Sweet as candy

Today's prompt: long hair

Let your hair down

John woke with a start because someone was staring at him. Hard. With a frown.

“Sherlock. What the hell are you doing?”

His husband was sitting in bed next to him, legs crossed, as if he had been staring at John for a while.

“You really need to stop watching those ridiculous and historically incorrect TV shows.”

“Wh...?”

“You have been dreaming about me. In knee breeches and with long hair. Again. Don’t try to deny it, it’s futile.”

“How...? I know that you can’t actually read my mind, so please tell me how you figured that one out.”

“So ...”

“Of course you were right. As if you didn’t know.”

Sherlock cocked his head to the left and gazed at John, completely ignoring the request to explain himself.

“Would you prefer if I had long hair?”

John looked at the clock on his bedside table. It was 3:30. He sighed.

“You don’t want to talk about it.”

John felt the atmosphere shift as if they had been talking about something important and he had made a flippant comment. He reminded himself that he actually hadn’t said anything so far. Sometimes Sherlock seemed to have an entirely different conversation.

“Come here, you idiot. It was just a dream. I love you, whether you have ‘your’ hair, long hair or are bald.”

Next 221b: What's in a name?

------------------
AN:
The prompt was 'long hair'.

This is for Verity Burns and Atlin Merrick since they both love long hair on men.

If the internet is right and 'let one's hair down' means 1. Lit.
to undo one's hair and let it fall freely as well as 2. Fig. to tell [someone] everything; to tell one's innermost feelings and secrets then my title rocks. :D
If not: *pfff*

I like this very much - especially the thought of Sherlock with proper, long wavy locks all tangled from the wind and ....
Sorry, dragging myself back from my happy place, I thought I'd add that when I say "let my hair down" I mean, chill out, relax or - depending on the company - get more than a little bit drunk. Still works as a title though.

1) Your title rocks.

2) Burns and Merrick adore *you,* as well as long hair on men.

3) As with so many of your 221Bs, I want to know more of this story. Knee breeches? Long hair? Why Sherlock even cares...?

4) You also rock.

I believe the internet is right in this case ... and if not *pfft* :)
Besides, long hair on a man who can carry it well is gorgeous ;)

Good time hangover. I had a close friend over for the weekend and she had to leave again. I hate that all my good friends are living somewhere else. :(
I miss them.

Like you. I wish we could see each other more often. *hugs back*

Oh, I love it! Long hair... yum :D

Getting past the drool-factor, this:

'John felt the atmosphere shift as if they had been talking about something important and he had made a flippant comment. He reminded himself that he actually hadn’t said anything so far. Sometimes Sherlock seemed to have an entirely different conversation.'

is sheer perfection! Absolutely brilliant.

Now I have a Jane Austen like pic of Sherlock in my head. Mr. Darcy would be perfect!

Yup, that title rocks likes granite. Sorry, it's hard to come up with a good analogy with that distracting image of a long-haired, knee breaches(with ribbons, why are there ribbons?) bedecked Sherlock taking over the Mind-Outhouse.purrrrr.

Sorry(again) but, that is distracting. Have to giggle at the thought of Sherlock deducing John in his sleep and the banter was so in character.

“Would you prefer if I had long hair?”
John looked at the clock on his bedside table. It was 3:30. He sighed.
“You don’t want to talk about it.”

Just insert my usual threats of violence blah blah person or people blah blah 'cause Insecure Sherlock... *sighs*
