Taken (6/6)
Greg sometimes wondered why he liked that man at all. He was difficult to talk to on a good day and more than once Greg had had to suppress the urge to hit the man on a bad day.
Still, the rare occasions when he opened up to Greg, when he talked to him instead of at him, made it worth it. It made him feel special. He sometimes watched Sherlock and John and thought that John might feel something similar.
He looked at the tall figure standing at the window and remembered their first meeting on a rainy night in front of a hospital. And he remembered another time when Mycroft had said about himself and his brother, “We can’t feel joy or happiness. It’s against our nature.”
He knew it was a lie, he remembered the rare occasions when Mycroft had laughed out loud at one of Greg’s stories, remembered Sherlock in the days after he and John got together and had seen it just now, when his mobile vibrated with a text from John, that only said, ‘I’ve got him’. It was so much more than relief that crossed Mycroft’s features.
A second text gave them an address and Mycroft sprung into action. His revenge was going to be as quick and deadly as a lightning bolt.

AN:
Today's prompt - courtesy of Verity again - was 'joy'.
I know you were all hoping for some hot after-rescue-sex. That would be the ending every one expects, right? Well, have you met me? *evil grin*
I might write a coda (learned that from a good friend of mine *pokes Verity*) if you ask nicely. ;)

Date: 2012-10-21 08:09 pm (UTC)Lovely way to round off this dramatic series - might I suggest that the coda form your monthly 'longer' piece?
Much longer. Much.
And ideally in extreme detail :D

Date: 2012-10-21 08:23 pm (UTC)Er... Does Molly know about that? Because it smacks of Mystrade to me! :D
I know you were all hoping for some hot after-rescue-sex. That would be the ending every one expects, right?
Not at all, no. Come on, we're not like that. *coughs* We have our happy ending anyway. John has got his Sherlock back and soon Mycroft and Greg will be humping like bunnies. Everything is fine and rosy.
I might write a coda (learned that from a good friend of mine *pokes Verity*) if you ask nicely.
Nicely? Anarion I order you to write this coda right now because I want it. Also, please. Is it polite enough?
Sorry if I'm wrong but isn't it something wrong with "John might feel the something similar"?

Date: 2012-10-21 08:28 pm (UTC)Brilliant idea!
Much longer. Much.
And ideally in extreme detail.
You genius. Anarion, you should listen to Verity, she knows all about what a coda must be. She invented the concept. More or less. :D

Date: 2012-10-21 08:34 pm (UTC)Something in the region of 4,000 words seems to be my concept. Go for it!

Date: 2012-10-21 08:40 pm (UTC)And now, I do ask you, with pretty-please and a Sherlock-profile-shaped cookie, to write a nice coda for your "Taken".

Date: 2012-10-21 09:02 pm (UTC)Atlin, sits down to await sweaty, sweaty, breathless, thrusty coda. *PoliteCough*

Date: 2012-10-21 09:06 pm (UTC)"I've got him."
Perfect. Necessary. And somehow beautiful...

Date: 2012-10-21 09:13 pm (UTC)In the meantime, let's think of more nice terms Anarion could be inspired by. Thrusty is rather lovely, but I also like the phrase "getting off." You?
no subject
Date: 2012-10-21 09:26 pm (UTC)And now I'm 'getting off' topic. Um... you are the Queen of Prompts AND the Queen of Porn, my dear Atlin, so porny prompts seem very much your area :D
no subject
Date: 2012-10-21 09:34 pm (UTC)Anyway, I might have got off topic there a little...

Date: 2012-10-21 09:50 pm (UTC)There you are, Anarion:
Over 221 words, under 4,000 (although feel free to ignore the last bit!)
sweaty
breathless
thrusty
getting off
nice bulgy erection
GO!

Date: 2012-10-21 10:13 pm (UTC)There are days when I think I should try my hand at writing Sherlock and John, but then I read one of your fics, dear Anarion, or one of Verity's, and I realise I could never hope to be anywhere near your league!
no subject
Date: 2012-10-21 11:10 pm (UTC)('Cause you've the patiences of a saint, and practice with Sherlock.)
(NOOOOO! um {sorry}, but you already hooked me on Molstrade in this verse. And that OTP don't need three.)
I'm being stupid of course you mean the feeling of being seen as an equal, someone who can be trusted.{Right?}...'might feel something similar' does not mean 'feels the same way as'. Purr is a wind-up monkey. {sorry again}
(I want to see BAMF Mycroft if this is the last chapter how can we see BAMF Mycroft!!!)
(Not in person,{pity, *has a sad*} but have read you enough to roll with the punches and delight in the unexpected. NEVER DISAPpOINTED, OFTEN AMAZED. (yup)
('Kay. Oh please, please "Our Queen of tiny and tension-causing tales"
would'st thou give unto us a coda? could be chocolate involved as tribute. What? have established have no shame and am willing to use bribery as necessary.

Date: 2012-10-22 12:14 am (UTC)Because I'd love to see BAMF Mycroft too. But that's probably two codas. Codi? Follow up stories.

Date: 2012-10-22 07:37 am (UTC)So if there might be a coda....I'D BE SO HAPPY EITHER WAY.
Having said that I have to say - I want to say - that I wouldn't have wanted to miss this sixth part the very way it is! It's perfect and wonderful and such a great part of this little series and it made me shiver when I read John's text and imagined Mycroft's face.
PERFECT!

Date: 2012-10-22 08:19 am (UTC)That said, of course i want a long, dirty coda too. I could even go as far as bribe you with cookies. RL ones this time, as Verity and Storm made me promise them to bring bribe stuff to Sherlopalooza. Yes, I'm that mean.

Also, thank you for saving me a seat. I can't believe there was a porn-prompt party here yesterday and I missed it. For once I go to bed early! But it was for a very good reason: I wanted to be in peak form today because I went to see Frankenstein tonight! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *is still high on adrenaline in spite of the horribly late time* :D
