Previous 221b: Lend a helping... mouth?

Today's prompt: sunburn

________________________________________________

...is trouble halved (2/2)

John runs down the empty corridor until he reaches a corner. There he stops abruptly before carefully peeking around it.

He sees the gun and his body reacts before his brain can even start processing the facts. He slams back against the wall and the pain in his already throbbing arm amplifies. He uses one of the breathing techniques he learned in the army and the pain is immediately dulled.

He listens for footsteps, the scalpel firm in his left hand. He is a doctor and usually he prefers to save life, but not when it comes to Sherlock. He is not willing to take any risks in this regard. No one gets to lay a finger on Sherlock while John is still breathing.

All he can hear now is silence, so he carefully sticks his nose round the corner again. The floor is empty, the men are gone.

The police arrives closely followed by an ambulance, Lestrade starts shouting at John and Sherlock, Molly discovers that the men stole one of her corpses and gets completely flustered and John, whose wound gets treated by a paramedic looks at Sherlock and shakes his head.

“It’s all your fault.”

“How is all this my fault?”

“Because you were the one who insisted that his sunburn needed to be treated at St. Barts.”

Next 221b: Disastrous working conditions

AN:
Today's prompt was 'sunburn'.

Also, as you might have noticed, this the resolution of the two-parter. :D

Scalpel can be as good as a gun when used by BAMF!John saving his Sherlock.

Sunburn?! Treated at Bart’s?! Sherlock – tsk, tsk, tsk.

Well, that took care of this two-parter, which brings me back to the missing second part of the castle/castle-ruins prompt....

Wait, there is also the sequel to yesterdays sequel. It would be a negligence to forget that.

"No one gets to lay a finger on Sherlock while John is still breathing." Besides John himself, of course. I love BAMF!John.

Ok, I'm confused with all this sequel talk...

So it was not a crossover with Bones after all .HA HA HA. *laughs very loud to hide her embarrassment* It's so much better since it's about BAMF!John, and even better about BAMF-for-Sherlock!John. So these men stole a corpse. Hey, is it a crossover with Frankenstein? :D

Anyway, Sherlock, you don't have to go to St Barts to treat a sunburn. (A sunburn on this skin... Ouch.) You just have to ask John to put a cream on it and to massage softly and... and... We don't even know on which part of your body the sunburn is but... er... Anarion, I think this is a prompt. :D

Ooh, great resolution! It's got lovely BAMF!John and great humour... but I also have to say that I am seriously impressed by the tension you build up so quickly and effectively in the first few paragraphs.

I know you've well and truly tapped into your talent for writing - I want to say 'toe-curlingly hot', but you're not big on the toes so insert your hot alternative of choice - porn, but I'm sensing a real gift for 'action / thriller' here.

Your writing just gets better all the time - and I am loving this journey!

and I am loving this journey!
This ship (no pun intended for once) would've run aground a long time ago if it weren't for friends like you! *hugs*
Hell, it would have never left the dock without you in the first place!

I'm happy to hear that I'm not only good at building tension in another context. ;)
So I can do porn, humour, dialogue and action. The only thing I really suck at is plot. *lol*

Thank you for this cupcake of a comment! (Yes, I'm hungry. Why do you ask?)

Anarion, I think this is a prompt. :D
I see that you switched from finding the innuendo in my 221Bs to finding possible prompts. *lol*

Ah, great conclusion! The beginning was so thrilling I could hardly breath and John's protectiveness over Sherlock just let my heart swell bigger and bigger. Wonderfully captured!

As Verity said, you're talents just keep growing by leaps and bounds and I'm ever jaw-dropped at how few words you, YOU in particular, seem to need to create not only tension, drama, *sex,* but an entire story. They just amaze me over and over. I'm so excited there's 284 days to go!
