Advent Calendar: Day 13

This is day 13 of the Advent calendar filled with 221Bs, brought to you by days_of_storm and me. We will post in rotation, so you get a 221B by me one day and one from her the next day, right up until Christmas.
Apart from the overall Christmasy theme we decided to refer to the previous 221B so that there will be a story in the end. Let's see how that works out.

Day 13


“Do you remember the first time you saw him?”

“Of course I do. All I could see was a confused, damaged, limping and short blonde man. Who would have thought...”

“Yeah, who. Well, MH certainly did. But he wouldn't be where he is now if he didn't see things.”

“Did you know that he tried to ask me out that night?”

“The boss? No way. Well, he always had a soft spot for you.”

“No, not the boss. John Watson. And no, he doesn't.”

“Of course he does. Why do you think you are called No. 1? Or were, until you met John Watson. Who asked you out. Really?”

“Stop giggling. There are worse men who can ask you out.”

“And better, right No. 1?”

“My name is Anthea.”

“Hey, ladies, could you stop that? We’re not in a tea parlour here. And there is work to do.”

Anthea closed her eyes. She really did not like the woman sitting at the far end of the room. Always trying to impress the boss and to cosy up to her superiors.

But she was right. There was a lot of work to do, especially after that SH kidnapping fiasco.

Without the boss secretly tracking his brother’s phone they would’ve never found him in time, bleeding and freezing in that cellar in Brentford.
