Advent Calender: Day 11
Dec. 11th, 2011 01:07 pmThis is day 11 of the Advent calendar filled with 221Bs, brought to you by
Apart from the overall Christmasy theme we decided to refer to the previous 221B so that there will be a story in the end. Let's see how that works out.
A happy pre-Christmas season to all of you! :)

Day 11
Cold. Why is it so cold?
Oh, John probably left the bedroom window open again.
Wait, why am I lying on the floor?
Concrete. Not wood. Not our bedroom.
Where am I?
Sherlock slowly opens one eye, everything is dark. He opens the other eye. Doesn’t help, it’s still dark. No, not dark. Pitch black.
Somewhere close water drips on the concrete.
Sherlock carefully sits up and pain shoots through his body. He tries to control his breathing and his heaving stomach.
He makes a noise. The echo tells him that the room is small. And underground.
His head hurts and there is dried blood on his face. Someone hit him on the head.
I have a concussion. Need to stay awake. They’ve taken my phone. Wouldn’t have worked here anyway. I would know how long I have been unconscious though. John will be worried. No, don’t fall asleep. Think about John.
---
At 221B John is pacing the living room.
Sherlock, you idiot. Answer your phone. Or text me. You know that I get worried if you don’t.
He has already talked to Lestrade.
Has this to do with the new case? It didn’t sound dangerous. Missing person? Did someone kidnap him? How dare they kidnap him? It’s December!
He types Mycroft’s name and slowly the anger begins to burn.

AN: Apparently I have another computer virus. What is going on here? The only sites I checked yesterday were LJ and tumblr. Can I get a virus from that? *is stupid in this department*.

My Norton antivirus goes beserk every time I access LJ. My guess is trolls targeting users, but I don't understand why hackers hate this site so much. We're just writing naughty stories. Give peace a chance.

Date: 2011-12-12 08:33 am (UTC)Just as there's bacteria and viruses and genetic anomalies and goodness knows what else can affect a human. (Hope you're feeling better too!)
Assuming you're a windows user- I'd also install and run Spybot-Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html) and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (free) (http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free). They're both a good (FREE) clean up against all sorts of other maladies, and along with an anti-virus, can help with any sort of infection.
Most programs of this sort are free- only the pro-active (aka, prevents them from infecting you in the first place) sort can be ludicrously expensive. But so long as you're not browsing around the internet on dodgy sites downloading all sorts of dodgy stuff, you should be fine anyway. Just update and run them every now and then.

Must we expect a "Major character death" warning by the end of the week?
Luckily for you, I'm not Ari. *still can't believe that she took the 'allegedly' out*
